Our Goldens

All our dogs are purebred Golden Retrievers. We choose to DNA Profile test to screen for any breed specific genetic diseases & traits. We are seeing more and more dogs being affected by conditions that could have easily been avoided if a DNA test was done on both breeding dogs prior to pairing them.

Hip and Elbow dysplasia unfortunately cannot be tested for yet but by having our dogs Penn Hip & Elbow scored it gives us a better idea of how we can avoid adding more dogs with this health condition in the hope to prevent our puppies getting it by not breeding from dogs with high scores. There are also environmental factors that can contribute to this health issue eg. Diet and how they were raised as a puppy which is why we really advocate purchasing from a breeder that has had Hip and Elbows scored and also knows how to raise them correctly. We also have our dogs heart & eyes checked & make sure they are all in good health & regularly checked by our vet. Our females are vet checked prior to breeding. We believe in only bettering the breed and strive to produce healthy long living dogs.

All our puppies are Vet checked, Microchipped, Vaccinated & Wormed from birth every 2 weeks until they leave us.

They will also come with a puppy pack including:

- their birth cerificate / vet record

- vaccination & microchip certificate

- results from their puppy evaluation

- Early Neurological Stimulation & Early Scent Introduction record

- Information about your puppy's birth, development and personality

- a copy of both parents health clearances

- a toy with their litter mates, mums & my scent on it to help with a smooth transition

- an information booklet on how to care for your new Golden Retriever pup & a detailed guide on how we have been raising them

(Puppies will come with Limited pedigree papers (Not for Breeding) and a spaying/ desexing contract

Our puppies are all raised with intent in our family home and also get to experience the great outdoors daily. We have a specifically built puppy socialisation & desensitising area. They are handled from birth every day in a calming and respectful environment.

We raise our puppies with both the Puppy Culture Program and The Empowered Breeder Curriculum as well as incorporating some of our own methods that we have found have been very beneficial to our puppies development from our own experience.

From Day 3 - 16 we perform Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) & Early Scent Introduction (ESI) on our puppies.

Our puppies are introduced to loud sounds like fireworks, vacuums, hairdryers, storms, babies crying, power tools and other household and environmental noises that can make a dog reactive to help desensitise them. They also get a great start to toilet training which we will guide you with and everything else when you take your puppy home so that you can continue what we have started. Always be aware that although the puppies may seem toilet trained while living with us moving homes can be stressful and with a different routine and a different toilet area they may get confused and go backwards but we can help with this. We give our puppies age appropriate positive exposure to lots of new things including getting them used to the car, bath, crate training, overhead awareness and that’s just to name a few. We make sure every experience is a POSITIVE one.
